Hedgehogs October News
This month the Hedgehogs have been developing their gross motor skills by climbing, balancing and jumping on our obstacle course in the garden! Some of us spent lots of time moving the crates and beams ourselves to make our own little obstacle course! We have also been using ramps and beams both indoors and out to roll the balls down. We plan to carry out a ball painting activity so we can explore rolling the balls in paint!
We all really enjoyed bringing in our favourite books from home. We did really well sharing them with our friends as we looked through them all at group time! We will continue to have our Book of the Week (based on children’s interests) and group times throughout the day to explore the books.
Most of the Hedgehogs have been really interested in animals this month! We have been looking at animal books, singing animal songs and playing with the farm and wild animals. Some of us made simple animal puppets and have really enjoyed making animal noises!
As it was Halloween this month we had our own little Halloween party! We had lots of fun dressing up in spooky costumes and exploring the messy play. We had a Halloween snack (pumpkin soup, Halloween shaped bread and biscuits) and sang Halloween songs.
