Nursery News September 2017

Meadows would like to give a warm welcome to Bo, Harry, George, Robyn, Kimiko and Harper who have all been settling in recently, we look forward to getting to know you all more.

We had lots of children leave this month as they to start a new adventure at school. Everyone at Meadows would like to wish Bikari, Lewis, Charlie, Finn, Max, Thea and Elio good luck & we look forward to seeing how much they’ve grown at our school party in June next year. We also said goodbye to Sophia and Alex, we wish them luck at their new nurseries.

We are pleased to announce that Catrin Scott & Erin Quinn will be returning to Meadows at Pilrig. As some of you may know, Catrin has had a spell working with Edinburgh Council & she now has her own little girl, Lois. Catrin will resume her role of Deputy Manager with responsibility for the pre-school children working alongside Barbara and Anne Marie. Lisa, our other Deputy Manager, now has responsibility for the under 3’s working alongside Leah.

Erin has been based at Meadows at Millerfield Place in the pre-school room as Team Leader & will return to Meadows at Pilrig in the next few weeks as Team Leader in the Hedgehogs Den.

Carolann Gourlay, who has been with Meadows at Millerfield Place for the last 3 years, will be joining us next week in the Flower Room.

Nicole Davidson returns from her maternity leave in a few weeks time & will be working on a part-time basis.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming Erin, Catrin, Nicole & Carolann.

We are also pleased to let you know that Lewis, who joined us earlier this year to help Caroline in the kitchen, is now planning to study for an SVQ in Early Learning & Childcare & will be starting work in the playrooms in a few weeks time. We have an internal nursery training programme which Lewis will follow prior to starting his SVQ.

Alison has decided to pursue a different career path & will be leaving Meadows in a couple of weeks’ time. We’d like to thank Alison for everything she has done for the nursery over the last few years & wish her all the best for the future. Graziano, has also decided to follow a different path & leaves this week.

We also say good bye to two of our seasonal helpers, Hannah Hood & Ailie Clapperton who are returning to university. Hannah is studying Primary Teaching & Ailie Law. Both Hannah and Ailie have brought lots of energy & enthusiasm to the nursery over the summer months & provided invaluable cover for permanent staff on annual leave. We also rely on Supermums Agency to provide cover for us when staff are absent.

In the play rooms our staffing is as follows:

Flower Room: Leah, Mary Jane, Colin, Nicole, Rosie, Debi, Sammy, Lewis, Lisa
