Nursery News December 2018

Everyone at Meadows would like to wish all of our families a lovely Christmas and New Year! We will see you all in 2019! Please remember that the nursery will reopen on Thursday 3rd January.

Colder Weather

Now that summer is over and the chillier weather has started, could we please remind parents to bring coats through to the playrooms at drop off time as we will continue to have our garden open from 8am. Could we please also ask that parents double check that spare clothes bags have suitable clothing in them for the colder weather.

Children in Need & Book Week

We would like to thank everyone who donated to Children in Need, we raised £87 from our bake sale and PJ day. The children did a great job at making and decorating our cakes. Thank you to Tristan for baking extra cakes at home for our bake sale!

We celebrated Scottish Book Week at the nursery in the last week of November.  Over the course of the week the Rabbits and Squirrels made their very own story books and brought their favourite books from home to share with their friends at Together times.  We also took our favourite books from nursery to the care home to share with the residents.

Staffing

We would like to welcome Agnes  to our team. Agnes has experience working with all age groups and will be based in the main building alongside the Squirrels and Rabbits.

Tatty Bumpkins

Our Rabbits & Squirrels have been enjoying another block of yoga classes with Tatty Bumpkins, learning different moves and exploring different stories on the journey. This is great fun and all children are this extra activity.

Forest Schools

Our last block of Forest Schools before Christmas has been ongoing for the last 6 weeks and the children on this block (although the weather has been cold!) have had great fun and spent all day building tents, swings with ropes and enjoying some hot chocolate in the woods!  We will start Forest Schools again once we are all settled back after the holidays.

Christmas Party

The children had a great time at their Christmas parties! Thank you to all the parents for your great efforts this year.

The Rabbits had a ball at the church and we are very proud of them getting up on stage to sing their Christmas carols. Tricky Ricky and Santa were a big hit again this year. The Hedgehogs and Squirrels had a great party snack before receiving their present from Santa!

2019 Extra Curriculum Experiences

This year we are having a teacher coming in to teach us all different types of dance! The day has still to be confirmed. In addition, Forest Schools will continue on a Tuesday, Care home visits on Thursday and Tatty Bumpkins on Friday.

Again, we would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
